Welcome to Local Ecologist, a blog of wide-ranging urban ecological ruminations. The blog is a project of local ecology run by Georgia Silvera Seamans. Georgia is the co-founding director of Washington Square Park Eco Projects. She has worked as a community and urban forester in New Haven, Boston, Berkeley, Oakland, and New York City. She holds degrees from Wesleyan University, the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and UC Berkeley.
